Bethany Beach
Bethany Beach is a part of the “Quiet Resorts”, a seven mile stretch of sandy beaches which includes Bethany, North Bethany, South Bethany and Fenwick Island. The famous totem pole is located at the entrance of our town. Bethany Beach offers many recreational opportunities, swimming, surfing, fishing, surfing, kayaking and paddle boarding – with the water staying warm enough so that you can swim May to early October. On the bayside of Bethany Beach, you may enjoy sailing, windsurfing, jet skis, fishing, crabbing, water skiing and boating.
The evenings are enjoyable as you walk through the town and meet up with neighbors and friends. The town offers something for everyone — restaurants, shops, ice cream stands, playground and park – or you can stroll along the boardwalk. During the summer months you can take in various entertainers at the bandstand or enjoy a bonfire or movie on the beach. No matter what your age or your interest, you will find something in the town of Bethany Beach.
North Bethany
The area known as North Bethany is composed of a small group of single-family homes and townhomes located in the area along the Delaware coast known as the “Quiet Resorts”. North Bethany runs about three miles from the northern edge of Bethany Beach to the Indian River Inlet. Many of the communities are gated and are located east of Route 1 with oceanfront or near oceanfront locations. A few communities also have property west of Route 1 and have beautiful bay and marshland views. Most of North Bethany is comprised of single-family homes with some clusters of townhomes.
The miles of private beaches offer beautiful oceanfront views, and the exclusive communities boast some of the most luxurious homes in the area. Outdoors’ enthusiasts will love the wide shoulders of Route 1, which are used as trails for biking, jogging, and walking. Residents and vacationers also enjoy the close proximity to restaurants, shops, and nightlife in nearby in Bethany Beach, Dewey Beach and Rehoboth Beach.
South Bethany
South Bethany is a small, incorporated town located in Sussex County, Delaware and is known as being part of the “Quiet Resorts”. Consisting mostly of residential single-family homes, most of which are within walking distance to the beach. Ocean Drive (Route 1) is the “main drag” that runs parallel to the beach, a great place for biking, jogging, and walking. The bayside offers great canals for fishing, boating, and accessing the Little Assawoman Bay.
To the south is the Fenwick Island State Park, which is a popular attraction for visitors and residents alike who enjoy the large variety of water-related activities available. The beautiful scenery and relaxed, laid-back atmosphere make South Bethany the perfect location for your year-round residence or quiet vacation retreat.
Fenwick Island
Fenwick Island is located along the southern Delaware coast, in the area known as the “Quiet Resorts”. Despite what its name leads you to believe, Fenwick Island is not located on a barrier island, but on a narrow peninsula just north of Ocean City.
Homes in the area are a mixture of single family, townhomes, and condos and the population is a mixture of year-round and vacation residents. Watch the sunrise over the ocean and the sunset over the bay. Stroll through the many local shops and dine at the dozens of restaurants.
Middlesex Beach
Middlesex Beach is on the lower Delaware coast of the Atlantic Ocean just south of Bethany Beach and north of South Bethany. Middlesex Beach is a private community with locations both east and west of Route 1. The east side boasts beautiful views of the ocean with many oceanfront homes and guarded beaches. The west side has great access to canals and the bay, with many homes that have boat slips and/or docks.
Greater Bethany Area
There are many communities located just a couple of miles from the Atlantic Ocean and very close to the Indian River Inlet — these neighborhoods offer a unique combination of new developments and older, more established small-town communities. While these communities have undergone a transformation over the years because of their proximity to Bethany Beach, they continue to offer a small-town atmosphere and attract people from many areas across the nation.
Ocean View and Millville are just two examples of these communities, they are friendly communities, comprised of both young families and retirees — and while there are many year-round residents, they are also quickly becoming popular areas for vacation homes due to the close proximity to the Atlantic Ocean.
